Host Hotel: The host hotel for this event is the newly remodeled, Marriott Minneapolis West. The Marriott is offering room rates of only $85 per night-2 queens, $115 for king suite. The Marriott features Caribou Coffee and Kips Irish Pub. It is just minutes from the Pavilion. It is very close to Minneapolis/St.Paul International Airport and the largest mall in America. Mall of America has an indoor amusement park and a plethora of stores and restaurants.

USAG Sanction: The John Roethlisberger Iceberg is a USA Gymnastics sanctioned event. All participants must have a valid USA Gymnastics membership.
Equipment: All equipment for this event is owned by the University of Minnesota and is used for the Gopher meets.
Refunds: We will refund for injuries up to 10 days prior (Jan 15th) to the meet. We will refund 50% for all other reasons up to 15 days prior (Jan 10th). NO Refunds will be granted after Jan 15th.
USA Gymnastics member: You must have current USA Gymnastics member number when entering. Please use the USA Gymnastics online entry system for your athletes. *MUST still register using official entry for when paying and for team entries.
Awards: Medals will be awarded for all-around and events. The Iceberg invitation is very generous in awarding several medals.
All level 4 gymnast’s will get a participation medal. No event or AA awards.
Level 4-7 open, no Divisions.
JD—ages (11-14) and (15-18)
JO level 10—ages (14-15) and (16-18)
All other age groups will be per USA Gymnastics Jr. Olympic Program.
Team Awards: The top three scores from each event for the following teams:
Compulsory level 4-7 for each level.
JD—All ages combined. One JD team award.
JO/JE for each level 8-10—All ages combined.
Event Finals: Event finals will compete during the college meet. The top six level 9 (13-14), level 10 (15-16), and Level 10 (17-18). 19+ Elites with Sr level 10’s. Ties will compete. Spots will be filled in the event of scratches.
Meet Format: Levels 4-6 will be traditional (warm up all events-compete all events) format. Levels 7-10 and JD will be Modified Capitol Cup (warm up, then compete each event in Olympic order).
Hospitality: The hospitality for the Iceberg is top notch. Coaches and judges can take advantage of great food served in the club room at the pavilion. A special hospitality party will be held at the host hotel on Saturday night after the level 5 session. Join us for food and refreshments after the last session.
Friday Jan 25---Level 8, Level 9 and JD, Level 10, 19+Elites, Level 7 (7:30am-10:00pm)
Saturday Jan 26---Level 7, College meet/ event finals, Level 6. (8:00am-10:00pm)
Sunday Jan 27—Level 5, Level 4 (9:00am-9:00pm).
This is preliminary and can change due to numbers for each level entered.
Because of limited time, this meet will fill. There is strict limited numbers for each session. It will be first come first serve. Entries must be paid in full with complete and accurate roster to be considered registered!!!
Official entry deadline is Monday December 3, 2018. All late entries must be approved by meet director and will have a $20.00 late fee per gymnast.
Entry Fees: Level 4--$100, Levels 5-10, JD, 19+ Elite--$120 Team--$50. Fees include an Iceberg gift.
**$1.00 per athlete will be sent to the National Men’s Scholarship Fund as per USA Gymnastics Sanctioning procedures.
Admission Fees: *NO ADMISSIONS FEE!!!
T-shirts: T-shirts will be sold as pre order only. Orders due Thursday, January 10, 2019.
Parking: There are several lots and ramps surrounding the Pavilion. These lots and ramps are not operated by the John Roethlisberger Iceberg Invitation and will have a charge for entry. Parking fees are usually $10-$15 and many times CASH ONLY.
Scholarship: One of our goals of this meet is to ensure gymnastics is here forever. The University of Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics program’s success needs our help. A portion of all entries will be donated to the University team each year. The John Roethlisberger Open has donated over $27,500. If you wish to donate to the John Roethlisberger Iceberg Scholarship, please make check to North Shore Gymnastics and mark JRIO Scholarship in the memo. Every dollar counts!
